I am seeking to make a connection between the Cheshire Hamletts and the Gloucestershir Hamletts in antiquity. Thomas Hamlett was born in 1715. There is a Matthew Hamlett who appears in Cheshire when he marries an Elizabeth and has a son in 1738. I don't know where he was born but he was born in 1718 and it is possible that he might be Thomas' brother, and he might have come from Gloucestershire originally. He named his first son Thomas.I see that Thomas Hamlett was a freemason and I think his name is on the tomb because he did the engravings. I am not sure if he is actually buried in the tomb. I wanted to find out who all the other people are in that tomb, and whether or not they are all his Hamlett relatives. If they are not then it is unlikely he is in the tomb and more likely that he was just signing his name to the workmanship.
